INTERPRETATION

UNFINSHED With a working title 'Last Morning of Summer'. How do we interpret an image, an idea of the thing we wish to depict? For me I begin with the observation, the original photograph, drawing and then I explore the subtle nuances of my reflections. I often do not fully begin a work until I am in the middle of a chaotic and undiscovered country. The joy I find is in the realisation of this chaos, the making sense, understanding and 'interpreting' the emotional effect it has on me. This is also motivated by what I wish you to feel, what 'interpretation' is open to and allowed you? Like Haiku, I most often love to invite within you a memory, a time or place that has meaning to you.
